At Otterburn we believe that a high-quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Computing has deep links with subjects including mathematics, science, and design and technology. 

Whilst at Otterburn our children will learn how to:

  • Understand use of algorithms
  • Write & test simple programs
  • Use logical reasoning to make predictions
  • Organise, store, retrieve & manipulate data
  • Communicate online safely and respectfully
  • Recognise uses of IT outside of school
  • Design & write programs to achieve specific goals, including solving problems
  • Use logical reasoning
  • Understand computer networks
  • Use internet safely and appropriately
  • Collect and present data appropriately

In school desktop PCs are available in each class and a growing number of Ipads are also used to support in all areas of the curriculum.
