Welcome to Otterburn Primary School & Nursery

A small rural school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to thrive.

Welcome to Otterburn Primary School and Nursery. We are proud to be a small, inclusive rural school at the heart of our community, providing education for children from Nursery to Year 6.

Our size is one of our strengths. We know our children and families well and are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, happy and valued. We are ambitious for all of our pupils, recognising their individual strengths and needs and supporting and challenging them to achieve their best.

We want every child to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and curiosity they need for the next stage of their education and for life beyond school. Our curriculum reflects the needs of our pupils and our school context, providing learning and wider experiences that broaden children's opportunities and aspirations.

Safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing are central to our work. We value strong partnerships with parents and carers and work closely with our local community, neighbouring schools and wider partners to support our children and enrich their experiences.

We are committed to continuous improvement, with staff and governors working together to build on our strengths and identify priorities for further development, always with a clear focus on the experiences and outcomes of our pupils.

I hope our website gives you a sense of life at Otterburn. If you would like to find out more, please contact the school office. We are always pleased to welcome families and visitors to our school.
